Wavy Coral with Linked Tourmalinated Quartz Stone
This large piece of vintage coral is a stunner! One of my favorite stones to pair with coral is Tourmalinated quartz. The natural lines of tourmaline with the quartz is a natural beauty and truly fascinating. Nature is AMAZING! <3
Design:
I work with vintage coral collected years ago, giving it a new life. I carve and shape the coral with traditional lapidary equipment. Refining the shape, I flatten the back and coat it with a resin to strengthen it before I set it into the oxidized silver pendant created from silver sheet.
Both coral and Tourmalinated Quartz are bezel set. My custom bezels are handmade specifically for each individual stone. The key features of my bezels are the hand cut notches that are placed asymmetrically into the bezel as an added signature detail. The stone is completely surrounded on all sides by metal. It’s the most secure and stable setting.
